The Otaku Patrol Group was founded in 1993 by Desmond Crisis in San Francisco, California. As pioneers of social technologies the group was ahead of it's time. Although many members of the original organization continue to be active and gather for events, the group in general is a historical reference.

Membership
Our membership is open to all persons demonstrating an interest in our mission and willingness to participate in our events. Prospective members must be located in or willing to travel to the San Francisco Bay Area. New members are issued a numeric call sign, ID card and email forwarder from the opg.org site after 90 days from their first meeting. Members are then required to attend at least one meeting, net, assignment, or function every 90 days. After this time, members are moved off of the active list and call signs are reissued if contact cannot be made after 180 days.
